Pool in your IM

The Windows Live Messenger team have a announce the winners of the Worlds Best App competition that they had running on who could create the best IM Bot game or application.

And the grand prize winner is Pool It’s Cool and this is simply a game of pool between two users in Microsoft Messenger 7.5 or Windows Live Messenger 8 beta. My favorite was Tanks Wars which came in 2nd prize, with Hide and Seek coming in with 1st prize.

Either way congratulations to all of the creators of these IM bots, they keep me well distracted and entertained with nieces and nephews. IM Bots in Messenger are becoming a very useful tool as per the latest for the Windows Live Messenger 8 beta using the Microsoft Safety Centre as the shared bot, allowing you to share the scanning of a friends computer for virii and spam. This makes a walk through approach on security scanning very practical and great for using with inexperienced users to help ‘get it right’ with them.
