Microsoft jumps in the hosted application space

Hosted Everything is Microsoft’s new battle cry. It looks like they will at least be announcing that they will have online versions of their software. Where does this leave Google and Sun at getting Open Office on the web first.

So with Microsoft’s purchase of the online office at Groove.net which I am yet to play with but looks like they have beaten ‘GooSun’

Within a year, Microsoft plans to offer hosted implementations of SharePoint as well as its CRM and ERP applications. When asked which other products and services Microsoft would host, another Microsoft insider said, “Everything. Hosted Office. Everything hosted.�
